Howdy! My name is Elena Shirnanek.  I have been with Edmond Family Counseling since August of 2022, where I started as an intern while working towards my Master's in Counseling Psychology at UCO. Upon graduation, I became a UDC-Candidate under supervision to earn my license.

What I love about EFC:

"I love the people I get to work with and being able to connect directly with our community."

What I love about being a therapist:

"I love about being a therapist is being able to provide a place for my clients to be themselves.  I pride myself on being an open-minded and genuine person."

Training:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with experience in modalities that fall under the CBT umbrella. I feel CBT provides skills that are the roots for growth.  I love to take time with people to process and make space for whatever is on their minds. I enjoy working with adults and teens who aim to work on anxiety, depression, self-esteem, emotional processing, and executive functioning, who also like to have fun throughout the process.
